The goal of VSA Ohio’s professional development programs is to make employment in the creative industries more accessible to people with disabilities.

Careers in the Arts

The Careers in the Arts program provides workshops to help artists better understand marketing, benefit coordination, advocacy and other components essential to pursuing and building a creative career. Accessible Expressions Ohio

Accessible Expressions Ohio (AEO) is an adjudicated, statewide exhibition and tour of visual art that began in 1996 and is an opportunity for artists of all ages to demonstrate their abilities. The goals of the program are to provide professional development opportunities for artists to create, exhibit and sell their art, recognize all ability levels, and present art by people with disabilities in inclusive settings. Artist Technology and Information Center

The Artists Technology and Information Center is a dedicated computer station available for artists to build websites, research grants, and digitally enhance their art. This Windows workstation includes design software and a scanner. VSA Ohio staff members are also prepared to provide consultation (in person or electronically) to review and edit professional documents such as resumes and artist statements. Artist with Disabilities Access Program Grant, (rolling deadline)

VSA Ohio and the Ohio Arts Council work together to make creative careers more accessible to Ohioans with disabilities through the ADAP grant program To that end, individuals interested in applying to ADAP are encouraged to first read the guidelines below then contact VSAO to begin the application process.
